Black Entitlement?
WE WANT JUSTICE! As voices raise, fists pump, and feet stamp - groups take to the street. Hive mind sets in as rioters set out robbing and looting. Four-hundred years of silent prayers, tears, cries for justice, seminars, rallies, house/senate bills, congressional hearings.....PAIN. Four hundred years of progress. Forgotten, in a breath. BLACK ENTITLEMENT! A phrase never uttered, never heard of, but should be coined today as easily as White Privilege.
When you put your continuous perpetuated suffering over the quiet resolute atrocities suffered by others. ENTITLEMENT! Is the only word I can think of. As demonstrators sit peacefully in the streets, freeways, and colleges in unity protesting slaughters in Gaza and the forced exodus in Ukraine, we take to the streets in a display of degradation, destruction, and distraction. It leaves one to wonder, if we have forgotten those who came before us and what their fight was truly about.
