Subject Matter Expert

 Help me out, please, I am really confused!

We can all agree that I am blogging from prison, so my interactions with what I would call normal people is significantly diminished. But, I have not fallen that far down the fucking rabbit hole. A few weeks ago I was in class. (Yes, weeks! It took me that long to process this shit.) I'm in Introduction to Financing and this kid/ guy/ man/ pronoun whatever goes up to Dr. G asking about some minister he read about that was arrested for commuting title fraud and possible avenues to protect against stuff like that. She gives her answer and he leaves. I look up and inform Dr. G of this product called Home Title Lock. He says, oh... I've seen that. Immediately, I ask, then what the fuck were you just up here for asking all of those stupid ass questions? They literally have a criminal who was arrested and did federal time on there, walking you through his process, explaining shit. He says and I quote, I don't trust a criminal Id rather ask her, he could have been a paid actor. .................WTLF! (What The Literal Fuck) ALRIGHT, People, person, blank space whatever! Lets examine a blue collar worker. They approach a job or union with ZERO knowledge and does a 3-5 year apprenticeship or on the job training, journeys out, and stays in that field moving up the ladder. Most people would view them as a Subject Matter Expert after some time. People would trust thoughts, opinions, and suggestions given by them on their specific field. How it it then that someone who finds themselves on the streets or in a criminal lifestyle, develops a hustle, seeks to understand its inner workings as they live, breath, and eat off of that hustle 7 days a week, ??? Hours a day is faced with such scrutiny and rejection as though their knowledge is somehow diminished? Since I am not doing or have not done time for every crime that I ever committed I wont give those ASSHOLES more fuel for their prosecutorial fire. HOWEVER! When I found my tool for survival, I chased it like it was the rabbit those dogs chase at the race track. Trying, failing, adjusting, understanding, adjusting, succeeding, failing, searching for answers, adjusting, succeeding, etc. I was introduced to a system, figured out what that system did and didn't like, learned the language of the system, how to navigate it, and how to manipulate it. My discovery and repetitive navigation of these systems, isn't diminished just because I didn't knock on the front door, seeking permission, hoping someone allows me access. TBH, attempting to live as a normal tax paying citizen, I consistently found myself getting impatient and frustrated with the lack of practical knowledge and experience of people employed to help navigate these systems. What I am getting at is this, kids are stealing cars with lightening cords and cell phones! And society is trained to diminish raw understanding, experience, and knowledge just because it wasn't gained through traditional avenues. This may not be you, if so cool! If not, WAKE THE FUCK UP!
